Facility Affiliations

The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was established in 1986 for the purpose of improving the quality of medical and surgical treatment available to the public by examining for professional expertise in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

To become certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, applicants must complete a two phased process by having their credentials verified as well as their training and experience. Then, they must additionally demonstrate their knowledge of the specialty by passing a rigorous written and oral examination.

By earning his Board Certification, Dr. McMenamin signifies his excellence in the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Since its formation in 1985, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery has grown to become the leading representative of practitioners of medical disciplines including dermatology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, general surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. The AACS is the nation's largest organization representing board-certified cosmetic surgeons.

The Academy's purpose is to maintain a membership of medical, surgical and maxillofacial professionals who participate in post-graduate medical education opportunities specifically in cosmetic surgery so that the public is assured of receiving consistently high quality medical care.

Dr. McMenamin has earned his certification from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgeons and is currently an examiner of other potential candidates.
