Meet Dr. Patrick G. McMenamin

Sacramento cosmetic surgeon Dr. Patrick McMenamin performed his surgical training at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institution in Baltimore, dr-mcmenamin-photoMaryland. He completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery and is Board Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Additionally, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also a Fellow and past President of the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery. 

After serving in faculty positions at Johns Hopkins and the University of California-Davis Medical Centers, Dr. McMenamin entered private practice in Sacramento in 1990.

He is a national leader in the field of cosmetic surgery and was elected President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) in 2009. The AACS is an international organization headquartered in Chicago and is the largest multispecialty organization in the world promoting patient safety and physician education. It is the only Academy devoted exclusively to the practice of cosmetic surgery.

Dr. McMenamin attained Diplomate status from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and is currently an examiner of potential candidates for board certification. He has worked in many capacities for this distinguished organization, including the Executive Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, which he co-founded. He is also a member and past Chairman of the Advisory Council of the American Society of Liposuction.

Dr. McMenamin lectures widely and performs live surgery presentations at national medical conferences on cosmetic surgery-related topics, including laser facelift surgery, breast augmentation, and innovative treatments for cellulite and liposuction surgery.

As a researcher, he has participated in numerous research endeavors dedicated to the advancement of cosmetic surgical techniques, technologies, and patient safety.

Dr. McMenamin writes for numerous professional publications. He serves on the Editorial Board of the publications Plastic Surgery Practice and Cosmetic Surgery Times, and is a frequent contributor to both.

When out of the office, Dr. McMenamin’s passions include ballet, golfing and fly-fishing. He has also taught sculpture at California State University, Sacramento, and has exhibited his art.
