Rhinoplasty (Nose )
Procedure: Surgical
refinement of the size, contour, and profile of the nose through incisions made
on the inside of the nostrils leaving no visible scars. The tip can be made
smaller, a hump can be removed, and the nose can be made straighter and
narrower. If needed, the nostrils can be narrowed using a separate incision
along the nostril on the outside of the nose. Inner nasal work can be done to
improve breathing.
Length of treatment:
2 to 3 hours in our accredited office surgical suite.
Anesthesia:
Local anesthesia with monitored IV sedation.
Side effects:
Bruising, swelling, mouth breathing until packing is out, numbness, drainage.
Risks/Complications:
Infection, bleeding, asymmetry, skin loss (rare), permanent numbness, scarring,
unacceptable result.
Recovery:
10 to 14 days to return to sedentary work. Advance activity as tolerated.
Permanence:
Permanent results with normal aging changes.
