Forehead or Brow Lift
Procedure: Raises
the eyebrows to reduce upper eyelid heaviness, lessen forehead and frown lines
and furrows between the eyebrows and sometimes the top of the nose. Gives the
upper face a quieter, rested, and more youthful appearance.
Length of surgery: One
to two hours in our accredited outpatient office surgery suite. Frequently, this
procedure is done with blepharoplasty (eyelid tucks) and/or a face and necklift.
Anesthesia:
Local anesthesia with monitored IV sedation.
Side effects:
Bruising, swelling, numbness (usually temporary), discomfort (usually minimal)
Risks/Complications:
Excessive bleeding, infection, permanent numbness, permanent nerve damage of the
eyebrow or forehead (rare), excessive scarring (rare), infection, reaction to
anesthesia.
Recovery time:
One week to return to sedentary work and activity, two weeks to return to most
normal activities, including exercise.
Permanence:
Lasts for years, depending on normal aging process.
