When to Choose Ear Surgery

What to Expect During Ear Surgery

Your ear surgery is performed using a local anesthetic and IV sedation for comfort. An incision is placed on the back side of the ear. The cartilage is thinned to construct a near normal looking fold. Excess skin is removed and sutures are used to bring the new edges back together.

Recovery and Results

Expect to miss about about a week of work or school. Your head will be wrapped in a gauze dressing for a few days. The stitches will be removed after 7 - 10 days. A soft, athletic type headband with will used to gently compress the ears during healing. Complete instructions for post op care will be provided.

Once the incisions have completely healed, you enjoy more natural looking ears and a renewed sense of self-confidence.
