What To Expect During Your Botox Treatment

Dr. McMenamin and his physician assistant have many years of experience and training in performing Botox injections. Before your procedure they will be able to determine whether you are a good candidate, what areas of the face will receive the most benefit, and how much the Botox treatment will cost.

On the day of your treatment, you will come to the office for a series of injections that only take a few minutes. Some patients experience discomfort, bruising at the injection site, or nausea. After the treatment, you are free to return to your normal daily tasks.

After Botox: When You'll See Results

You will start to see results in three to five days. It can be up to two weeks before you see the full effect. Occasionally, a second injection is required to achieve the desired effect.

You can expect the results to last between three to six months. When the beneficial effects start to wear off, the wrinkles will return, but often they are not as deep. You will need two to four sessions of injections per year to maintain the acquired beneficial effects.

Wrinkles that are present at rest and are not caused by muscle movement under the skin will not be improved. They are usually the result of sun-damaged skin or scarring from prior trauma.
